Leslie majored in music at
UCLA, playing clarinet in the various bands, singing in the opera
chorus and local rock bands, and studying piano with Johana Harris.
She was President of the Sigma Alpha Iota music sorority and graduated
with honors. After receiving her B.A., she studied acting and voiceover
and did a
variety of film industry-related jobs before taking time out to raise a
family. Her "time off" was well spent, used to write songs, direct ten
children's musicals at her church, and underscore The Westminster
Readers Theater presentation of "The Gospel of Mark". She
then put together her studio and earned her Certificate in Film Scoring
from UCLA Extension ("with distinction"). She studied composition privately with Bruce
Reich until his recent untimely passing and mourns the loss of his
talent and support, as do all of his students. She is currently
continuing her film scoring and orchestration studies with composer Jack Smalley.
Leslie scored the TBS pilot "WHAT News?" and has had a number of her songs placed in music libraries. She has just begun work on the independent feature, "Angst and the Ice Age" for director Michael P. Connelly.
